‘The Little Book of Scottish Folk Songs’ Launch concert with TMSA Young Trad Tour.

As part of the Celtic Connections Festival, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Strathclyde Suite, 26 January 2019 @2pm

Celebrating the launch of Collins’ The Little Book of Scottish Folk Songs - a revised reprint of what was originally The Scottish Folksinger - compiled by Norman Buchan and Peter Hall. Compered by Anne Neilson, a choice of songs from the new publication will be sung by Sheena Wellington, Robyn Stapleton and Tom Spiers. Copies will be available at the concert to buy. Opening the concert will be a selection of the TMSA Young Trad Tour 2018, comprising finalists from the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year competition and guests. Performers include Amy Papiransky (song), Luc McNally (guitar & song) and David Sheddon (pipes), and the 2017 winner, Charlie Stewart.

Also from Friday 18 January, the House of Song will be running Thursday – Sunday nights at the Holiday Inn Theatreland across the road from the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall hosted by TMSA Honorary member, Doris Rougvie, 11pm onwards. Always a great session!
