Some of Scotland’s finest young folk musicians are out visiting their home areas after releasing their album at Celtic Connections (nominated for Scottish Album of the Year) earlier this year!

The current TMSA Young Trad Tour group comprises of: Charlie Stewart from Perthshire, winner of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Competition, joined by finalists (depending on availability) Ella Munro (Scots song, Skye); Kim Carnie (Gaelic song, Oban); Iona Fyfe (Scots song, Huntly); Grant McFarlane (accordion, Paisley) and Mohsen Amini (2016 winner, concertina, Glasgow), with Owen Sinclair accompanying the group on guitar.

Audiences are treated to a mix of new material written and composed by these outstanding young musicians as well as innovative arrangements of traditional tunes – supported by Project Musical Director, Anna Massie - a former winner of the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award back in 2003.
